This is TJP Motorsport Team: Jason, Pop, Joanne, Carol and Terry.
This year was a fantastic year for the whole team and I would like to thank my Mum, Dad, Sister, Pop and of course not to do without the support from my friends and sponsors Fuji Xerox, Z1K, Middletons Printing, Anderson Racing Karts and Spicers Tamarind Retreat.
Your support this year and I hope in the future, is greatly appreciated and I will do my best to support you all wherever I can.
Lets start from the beginning.
After having a successful run for 2 years in my Anderson FPE 250cc Superkart (2010 & 2011) running 6th & 5th respectively. I endeavoured to purchase a brand new package from Anderson Karts (England). This new kart would be equipped with the latest engine package from DEA which is manufactured in Italy. The engine was then sent to the Anderson Kart factory where Russell Anderson waved his magic wand and made it go fast with his know how.
The kart arrived a few weeks before the first round of the Australian Championships held at Phillip Island (Victoria). Luckily the kart arrived almost ready to race as all I had to do was install my seat and apply the graphics. Once we got to Phillip Island people were amazed not only by the 'fantastic design scheme' but that I had the latest DEA engine as not many people knew I was getting one.
Below are the results and achievements by myself and the team for the 2012 season:
- CAMS 2012 Australian 250cc International Superkart Champion (#1)
- AASA 2012 Australian 250cc International Superkart Champion (#1)
- 2nd Overall CAMS 250cc International Queensland Club Series
- AASA 250cc International Queensland Club Champion
- Best Presented Team
- Best Presented Kart
- Outstanding Achievement
- 3 New Lap Records
- CAMS Queensland State 250cc International Champion (points awarded by CAMS themselves)
In looking forward to 2013 I will once again be competing in the Australian Title events at Eastern Creek and Phillip Island but will probably compete less in the club level races. Plans are to head to Europe and compete in 1 maybe 2 events in The Netherlands and either England or Austria so funds will be pushed. As back in 2009 when I pit crewed for Carlo Chermaz (a Queensland Club competitor) I was impressed with the racing and atmosphere in the Euro Series at Assen in the Netherlands. This is what made me step up to the premier 250cc International class in the first place.
Now in 2013 I am aiming to compete there myself in August along with Russell Jamieson from Queensland plus Carlo Chermaz will probably be there as well so it will be a great Australian presence among the multiple countries that compete.
